The following options are available to runners registered via General Entry, Affiliated Entry, Multi-Event Pass or 2K Family Fun Run price types.

1) A free transfer to the rescheduled event on Sunday 26 September 2021

Your entry has been transferred automatically so you do not need to re-register. We will keep you updated with details on the re-scheduled event as it draws closer.

Please check that your entry information is still correct, as many runners will have registered over 12 months ago and changed postage address or predicted finish time.

To review your registration information, login to the ACTIVE MyEvents Portal, select the ‘2021 Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run’, then hit ‘edit registration’.

To check your t-shirt size, please select ‘Registration & QR Code’. It will be included in your order summary. If you need to change your t-shirt size, please e-mail us.

Please login to check your information even if it has not changed and tick the question box to indicate you have reviewed it. This must be done as soon as possible and by Friday 20 August at the latest (when race packs will go into production).

You may need to cover the cost of a replacement race pack if it is sent to the incorrect address.

2) A credit note voucher, redeemable against any future Run 4 Wales event purchase in 2022 and beyond

If you would not like to attend the rescheduled event, you can claim the amount you paid for your entry as a digital voucher, redeemable against any future Run 4 Wales event purchase. If the event you register for in future costs less than your Cardiff Bay Run entry, you will retain the additional un-used value for another future purchase on your voucher.

Run 4 Wales organise the Cardiff Half Marathon, Newport Wales Marathon & 10K, Cardiff Bay Run, Porthcawl 10K, Barry Island 10K plus a series of virtual events – and credit notes can be used against any of these.

If you would like to take up this option, you must follow the instructions below to request a credit note voucher by Friday 20 August 2021. There is no time limit on using the voucher.

  • Login to the MyEvents portal using the email address and password you used when signing up.
  • Select ‘2021 Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run; (if it does not appear – select ‘claim registration’ and enter the registration ID from your confirmation email).
  • Select the ‘Change Event’ button and then ‘R4W Credit Note Voucher’.
  • Select the entry type you were registered for (i.e ‘General Entry’, ‘Affiliated Entry’, ‘10K Multi-Event Pass’ or ‘2K Family Fun Run Entry’) then complete the registration form. You will not have to pay anything at the checkout, if you have selected the correct entry type.
  • Your credit note request will be processed by 1 October 2021 at the latest. You will receive an e-mail from ACTIVE once it has been. Instructions on how to use a credit note voucher when registering for a R4W event can be seen here.

Please note: credit note vouchers are not available if you registered via an official charity or corporate package.

3) The opportunity to transfer your space to another runner and receive a refund

We will waive the usual £5.80 transfer fee and you will have until Friday 27 August 2021 at 4pm to make the transfer. Please note that for insurance and medical reasons, all transfers must be conducted through the official transfer service – which is set up to ensure you do not need to share personal or payment information – just a transfer link.

The runner taking up your space will pay for an entry, and when the transaction is complete the cost of your entry will be returned to your payment card.

If you have an Affiliated entry type you will need to transfer it to someone eligible to take it (that is affiliated to a UK Athletics club).

Please note: the transfer option is not available to you if you purchased your entry via an official charity, as your space has a personal fundraising pledge attached.

4) The opportunity to participate virtually between 26 September – 26 October 2021 instead and receive a finishers medal & t-shirt

If you would not like to attend the event in person and would prefer run virtually you can opt to transfer your space into the virtual 10K race.

Runners will need to provide evidence of covering the race distance (using an app like Strava, a GPS tracker or a picture of gym equipment) and we will send them a finishers medal and t-shirt in the post at the end of the participation window. We will cover the postage costs. Medals and t-shirts will be 2021 branded.

Please note, if you take up this option your entry in the rescheduled event on Sunday 26 September 2021 will be cancelled and this cannot be undone. There is not a virtual alternative to the family race.

If you would like to take up this option, you will need to transfer into the virtual race by Friday 20 August 2021 using the MyEvents portal:

  • Login to the MyEvents portal using the email address and password you used when signing up.
  • Select ‘2021 Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run’ (if it does not appear – select ‘claim registration’ and enter the registration ID from your confirmation email).
  • Select the ‘Change Event’ button and then ‘2021 Virtual Cardiff Bay Run’.
  • Select the ‘Postponed Event Transfer’ category, then complete the registration form. You will not have to pay anything at the checkout.

Please note: Only General, Affiliated or 10K Series Pass Entry spaces can be transferred into a virtual race using these instructions. If you purchased an entry via one of our official charities, a corporate package or by using a discount code you will need to contact the charity or code issuer to discuss if transferring into the virtual race is possible. There is no virtual alternative for the Family Fun Run.

5) Donate your entry and entry fee to the R4W Charitable Foundation

The R4W Charitable Foundation awards funding to grassroots sport and other community projects (such as the Welsh Schools Athletic Association, parkrun and the Run Wales social running programme).

Since 2012, it has awarded over £500,000 to projects in Wales. The foundation is usually funded by the surpluses generated by Run 4 Wales events, which have been seriously impacted since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, so your support will help at a crucial time.

If you cannot attend the new date and would like to donate your entry, please follow the instructions below. Your entry in the rescheduled event will be cancelled, and you will not be able to un-do this. We thank you for your support, it is really appreciated.

  • Login to the MyEvents portal using the email address and password you used when signing up.
  • Select ‘2021 Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run; (if it does not appear – select ‘claim registration’ and enter the registration ID from your confirmation email).
  • Select the ‘Change Event’ button and then ‘R4W Charitable Foundation Donation’.
  • Select the entry type you were registered for (i.e ‘General Entry’, ‘Affiliated Entry’, ‘10K Multi-Event Pass’ or ‘2K Family Fun Run Entry’) then complete the registration form to process the donation.

The R4W Charitable Foundation is a registered charity (charity number 1160212)
